Selecting the right class is important
If you’re a team of Toasters, you’re weekend warriors and CykelScramble is the bike relay race you’ve all been dreaming of. Toasters don’t just ride together, they push each other to go harder and be first in the coffee line. You’re motivated by the trophy as much as post-ride beers. Sure, you’re all there to win, but you’re not going to sacrifice fun along the way.
If you’re a team of Roasters, you’ve put razor to skin in places most people think is crazy. You’ve driven all night to get to a dirt crit and used way too much company bandwidth streaming Le Tour. Roasters live the cycling lifestyle—blood, sweat, and gears. Yep, you’re the total package: skill, determination, and a hunger for winning anytime you’re in the saddle.
6 Rules to Ride By
Your team will share ONE bike. Any bike with a seat and two wheels is welcome to rally. Check out a few examples of the types of bikes we think will perform well on the course. Show us what you’ve got. Style points are on the table. Your bike should be an extension of your team theme.
Sometimes simple is better. Durable, lightweight, and reliable. Choose your one gear wisely for the varied terrain of the course.
Your one-stop shop for speed. Fast on the straights, agile in the corners—but will you clear the doubles?
Hardtail Mountain Bike
Fat knobby tires might slow you down on the pavement, but you'll make up for it as you blast over the jumps and rip through the sandpit.
It’s that Frankenbike sitting behind the lawnmower in the garage. Put some air in those tires, throw some lube on the chain, and get ready to rock.
Full Suspension Mountain Bike
The serious squish will allow you to rip around the berms and launch over the doubles. Better bring your sprinting power for the pavement sections.
A .6-mile sprint course with over a dozen fast-paced obstacles to dial up the fun. The course is designed to showcase your ability to embrace the unexpected, show off your riding style (even if you don’t have one), and reward those who like to get a little dirty.Course Map

The flow of each Class
LAPS PER ROUND (BY CLASS)
This is an overview of the race schedule. Don’t worry, selected teams will be sent all the detailed info.
There might not be prize money, but for those who achieve something great—whether it’s an impressive on-track performance, an outstanding display of style, or a legendary wipeout—we have 12 awards for you. And each winner gets a year’s supply of CLIF Bars—and bragging rights, of course.
Three awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place positions in each class.
Awarded by Clif Bar for the most cohesive and inventive team theme.
Yard Sale Award
This one might be a block party! Based on the most epic wipeout, bail, or riding faux pas during the competition. It can’t be purposeful but we know someone is going to win.
Smooth Operator Award
Awarded to someone who displays the best flow, showmanship, and overall style during the full competition. (This award will not be given to someone whose team finishes first in any of the 3 categories—we already know they have style.)
